So I've been wanting a Mag for awhile, but I have one problem. I have no idea where to start. I'd like to stay away from anything electronic. Here's what I'm looking for in a Mag. -Small -Single Trigger -Light -Cool looking Since I already have an electro I just want something fun to play against rentals with. I was thinking something like a stock class feed and a vertical 12 gram changer. Let me know what you guys think, I'm more than open to suggestions. Thanks guys. |

I assume you mean an automag. You can pick up a classic mag for a little over 100 dollars now. What to look for: Powerfeed body / right feed (personal preference) Stock carbon fiber trigger frame (single trigger) look for one with a safety. Classic valve (if in doubt of working condition, get a seal kit off of ebay. Vertical ASA ( essential to run a gas thru grip or expansion chamber) You mention running a mag as a stock class. This can be done but takes a lot of forethought. Modifying a body for stock feed is not easy but it has been done. Running an automag as a pump requires a special kit for the valve to "remove" its semiautomatic function. Also running a stock valve on 12 grams won't get you great efficiency. Valves can be made more efficient on co2 by restricting the volume of the firing chamber using an insert. This can generally only be done on older style valves such as a level 5 where the powertube comes off. Hope some of this helps and guides your further research. EM

Well, Light, Small, Single Trigger.... First off you will want a ULE body/rail and the composite single trigger frame. Go with a freak back/ WWA freak front, and since you want to think about a 12g changer, you'll want a classic valve that can handle CO2. You can lighten it up a bit with a Hurricane LABS valve back.

Here are some ideas in the B/S/T's now. Keep in mind that you can part the grip frames (most are intelli frames) for ~$60-80 then buy what you want. If you want light, then stay away from the twist lock/powerfeed bodies as they are made of SS. The ULE bodies are the lightest, and X-valves are lighter than the classic. And the old school carbon fiber trigger frame is your best bet over an intelliframe, etc. For stock class, you can pick up one of those Sanchez feeds that fit into the feedneck if you don't want to modify your body. I know, not really rock and cock, but limits you on paint nonetheless. I dont find my steel body much heavier than my ULE when looking at the whole gun, if you want weight savings look at replacing the valve with an X or using a Diamond labs back. The X wont run CO2 however, and the dimaond labs valve back can be somewhat hard to find (they have titanium and aluminum, and are unmarked for either as far as material)

So I just bought a 68 with a classic valve, CF grip frame, shorty barrel(looks like a stock minimag barrel), and a 12 gram changer. Now that I have that how should I go about putting a stick feed on it? I'd prefer to no damage the body and retain the hopper mounting ability.
