| Formerly lancecst | 2 Emag questions
1. What do you guys do with your battery while you are storing your gun, leave it on the gun or disconnect it? I'm only asking because im not sure what effect having the pin push down on the contacts will have over time. I know I can bend them back up but don't want to keep bending them for fear that they could eventually break. 2. Does somebody do an on/off switch mod? I'm not feeling the pin and it is kind of a cheesy system of shutting the gun on and off.

If I recall correctly, a Euro version of the E/X-mag does have an on/off switch. It shouldn't be hard if you really want it. Just a switch on the main power cable that runs through the rail. It would require milling a hole or slot in the rail for the switch, unless you want to take your marker apart to turn it on and off. As for me, when I didn't have a proper battery pin (I was using a piece of weed whacker line) I disconnected the battery. Now that I do have the proper pin, it stays put and does the job just fine.

Using the plastic pin, for now. P8ntbal4me on AO has been developing a new E/Xmag board that will be using the buttons in the back as an on/off switch. Would probably be less than milling costs and you wouldn't be looking for an anodizer afterwards. Automags.Org Online Forums - New E-Mag/X-Mag board!!!!!! |
