I took the battery and tested it for 18v. it is an AGD battery pack. I did see how the contact plate rides over the battery so I added a thick oring leftover from an angel feedneck I had. no rattle. I turned the marker on and listened for the solenoid as i shook the emag around. Seems to be ok now. I will field test it next weekend too. Thanks for the advice to fix it. its been since my blue warped emag in 2003 so I am pretty rusty on the quirks of a mag

You should also check all of the orings in your on/off assembly. If you haven't replaced them recently, it might be a good idea to do so now. The on/off pin should move nice and freely. Old and swollen orings make it hard to move sometimes. Especially the quad oring, which tend to get hard and dry rot after a while.

Mine went soft and squishy just in storage. I have seen o-rings go hard as well. I wonder what makes the difference. I used to blame the lube entirely, but my stored o-rings never had any.

That's a sign of improper storing of your marker. Climate controlled areas will keep everything nice and running...What oil are you using?

I use superlube, but the o-rings that were in storage were new and un-lubed. I keep my markers in the house (meaning air conditioned here).
