I bought one of the AA Vigilante reg backs from II Sports but I'm getting shootdown if I go for more than about 1bps. It has what looks like he old 8hole mod. I dont have any problems if i use my minimag valve. Anybody have any suggestions.

Are you using all the same internals from the stock regulator?

I have 2 of them mounted and they work perfectly.

Try changing out the reg seat

Yeah I swapped the internals from the AGD valve. Should I use the reg seat that came with the Vigilante or the AGD one.

Either one should work. It's a drop in replacement. Make sure you didn't put the spring pack in wrong and lube the packing on the piston.

I didn't lube it after I took it out and wiped it down. I'll give that a try.

As far as putting it in correctly, what way is correct. It has a little nub on one end, I think I have that pointing forward.

Are you using a completly different valve or are you talking about just the back part...the regulator?

Just the back part.

Hmmm....you got me brother. Like I said before, I have 2 of them set up and they work as advertise. Besides the milling and material they're made of, the too backs are identical.

Did you change the air fitting? It sounds like something might be restricting the air flow before it gets to the reg.

I had taped up a fitting and installed it with the loose end of the tape covering the opening one time, try and diagnose that, lol.

Another time I installed a swivel fitting with a braided hose. Turns out the fitting allowed the hose to go so far in that it covered the internal passage way about 50%. That was another head scratcher.

Take a second look, may be worth it.

Compare the spring packs between the two regs. A short, crushed spring pack will be stiffer and flex less for the same pressure, opening less at the seat.
