Mag leak.... hmmmm

So I got this mag....

It leaked really bad, I swapped the oring inside the RVA (not on the RVA, but the little brass thingy behind it)

I gassed it up, still leaked, but when I pulled the trigger the leak dropped from 100% to like 15% (all down the barrel)

I thought powertube, swapped the powertube oring too (it was beat to death and black)

now...
gas it up, leaks about 50%, when i pull the trigger, the leak stops!

soo where to look now?

leak stops when you pull and hold the trigger?

That would still be the power tube oring... or perhaps a bigger spacer?

Edit: Have you ever watched tom's videos?

Tom's videos still refer to power tube springs not spacers(I think he says lvl 6.5 is the gun in the vid)

I have the same problem, figured it is the spacer but I don't have any others. I am having problems finding a spacer kit. I have found them individually on ebay but what size to buy is the question.

lol why would i read some destructions?! haha

i changed the oring, only leaks when the trigger is not pulled, when i hold the trigger, it stops

i didnt see a spacer inside of it... just a spring, should there be one?

Maybe your spring is worn out. Change to spacers.

EDIT: Before you go out and buy spacers. Stretch out the powertube spring to see if the leaking changes. If it does, you know the spring is no good.

Keep in mind that these things index from the bottom of the brass power tube tip. Make sure it is clean and smooth, along with the mating surface of the spacer/spring. You're looking at changes on the order of 0.005".

Oh yeah, SS, got your rail bushing in place?

super_stanchy 07-09-2012 10:00 PM

all fixed....

i changed the oring on the powertube cap/tip thingy

didnt realize there was supposed to be an oring at the bottom of the powertube under the spring/spacer (i put one of the blue spacers in) and no more leaks!

woot!
