| Post Whore Join Date: Feb 2007 | Thinking about building my first mag
Hello First, if this is in the wrong location mods please move or tell me where to put it and I will gladly move it. I have never owned a mag, nor shot one oddly. I want to build one over the winter since there is no hockey. I have been reading about mags for the last few days and all I have learned is that I really want one lol. What I want
Let me know if there is more information you need from me. Any help would be awesome

You're in the right spot. This one had wandered off... Automag questions Personally, I like the single AGD frames more than any other brand. Not pretty, but they fit my hand. Your budget will require some choices. Your body choice affects your barrels. HPA or CO2? Are you mowing or one balling?

You could start with a BST or ebay classic automag or minimag. You should be able to learn to tune a level 10 bolt over the winter (if not a day). Strong preference for or against left, right, power, vert feeds? What kind of loader do you have for it?

I prefer vert feed, but I could use anything that isn't warp feed. I have a halo b for it but I would pick up a cheap revvie for it if I need to

Oh, a ULE body would be an easy route; cocker threads, aluminum and all. With the halo, you could get away with a level 7 bolt, but the level 10 is still nice to have. Twistlock freak backs are getting a little rare, but they still pop up on occasion. You can get a stainless body converted to an offset vert feed, which is a nice combination of no-elbows and over-the-top sighting.
