Back around 2001 I started getting into paintball due to someone bringing magazines to class and talking about it. I bought a bunch of paintball stuff then traded it all for a GameCube setup.

Not too long after that there was a paintball outing I was invited to and I wanted to bring my own gun. My teacher at the time had a Minimag in storage at his parents house and was willing to sell it to me. So my first time actually playing a game of paintball was with a Minimag. I then discovered automags.org and have been into 'mags ever since. I've actually watched the Automag tech tape with Tom Kaye multiple times

I started playing paintball at the end of 2006. I was tempted to go the Tippmann route since they were the most readily available. I remember searching on Google the most reliable markers, and Automags came up consistently. So after much research, I got my first one from eBay. And I have been hooked ever since. So Mags have been part of my paintball history from the very beginning.

In 2008, a ref mistook my Phantom for an Automag and started talking at length about the variety of mags. Next game, I got over shot by the field sponsored team running ramping. Got pissed, joined AO and bought my first mag later the next week. A chromed out eclipse minimag with autoresponse trigger. Pay back was fun and earned some respect at the same time. I miss my first mag.

I get the feeling that watching this particular video would be one of the last things he would want to do

It must have been 88, or 89' I was playing outlaw locally with a regular group. This hot shot new guy showed up to play with one, touting how expensive it was. I was so confused as to what it was, no pump handle, no fore grip and it had a weird feed (we were all using stick feeds). I just figured it was full auto. The guy got slaughtered that day and as I remember it, he was having all sorts of trouble with the thing leaking CO2 down the barrel. we never saw him again. It was probably three years before I saw another, but by then I knew what it was.

When I first started looking at mags after my first game back in '95. I used to OHHHH and AHHHH at all of the cool guns back then. I shot an SL-68ii at my indoor field.

Local field, Paintball SAMS at the time 94' had an AGD team... Sams SOB's... AGD had some sort of relationship with the field if I heard correctly and used to test em there. (fairly local)

I was playing with my PMI Trracer and then later a Prolite and I remember sitting back watching a few of these players with their Mags with crown point barrels shooting through knotholes . I will never forget the Ping...Ping..sound of those barrels....

There was never a huge cocker/Mag war as I recall...all AGD all the time, cockers were rare...

.took a few years before I finally picked up a minimag...still play with it..

Playing back yard ball with "Sgt. Splatter" who Tom had given a mag for including one in his comic. He later shot the barrel at me, I picked it up walked it over to him and told him he was out lol. Didn't think much of it that day but I ended up shooting a mag until the electro days.
