Leaking Mag

Hello,

I have an automag and well its leaking. When ever I air it up it leaks down the barrel and it only stops when I hold down the trigger. I went through all of the orings and replaced them with a repair kit I just bought. Any help would be awesome.

Put a few drops of oil in the ASA or valve connection then fire the marker a bunch of times without the barrel on. Mags like plenty of oil.

Still leaking after that? That would be your power tube Oring. If you replaced it already then pull it out and put some oil on it, then put it back or, unlikely but, you may need to replace it again.

Still leaking after that? Make sure the correct Orings are on the top of the on/off, replace if required.

Still leaking after that? Check back here. These are the most common causes but not the only ones.

It should be a power tube spacer/o-ring, but you would have one of these also,

1) new-to-you automag that never held air in the first place. If you have a good o-ring in there, the spacer may be too long. Do you have a spacer or a little bronze spring?

2) worn out/damaged PT o-ring

3) lost your rail bushing and the valve is sitting back from the sear.

this would be on a stock mag with otherwise good seals. There are much stranger things.

Steps I took, Outcome

1. Oil in asa and fired, still leaks
2. Checked and oiled PT oring, still leaks
3. Replaced upper on/off oring, still leaks

I do not know what I rail bushing is so I may have lost it.

I turned the pressure down with the velocity adjuster and it does not leak, but only shoots a puff of air. When I turn the velocity up it leaks massively down the barrel.

Sounds like your spacer is not the right one or your rail bushing is missing. Do you have a spacer kit ?

No one told you to do that.

It's the bronze-colored bushing that the field strip goes through in this picture.
