Possible to Mill a SS Valve back?

Would it be possible to take a Classic Automag Valve Back-half to a machine shop and have them machine grooves in the top and sides of it? Both to lighten AND give it an unusual look to the valve? I doubt the weight savings would be much, but every gram helps, right?

I have WAY too much time to think about mods to my Classic Mags during the winter months...

That is EXACTLY what I had seen the other day. I tried to find the picture of the Mag I had seen this done on in the AGD Picture Thread and could not locate it. I began to think I had imagined it. Thanks! In retrospect, I should have known Luke's had done it!

I think he used to mill ASAs to mount horizontal. You might ask him if you are still looking.
