Micromag questions

Hi all,

Im interested in picking up a micromag,

Is there any quirks, or anything else to be mindful of...

differences in generations?

Detent... how does it work? Is it rebuildable?

Thanks!

I don't see how you'd ever need to rebuild the detents. Easiest thing in the world to keep clean. Just spray it out.

Only real quirk is that you'll need a special dear pin.

There are a few generations. Earliest had fixed barrels. Next has AC barrels threads. 3rd had a milled/fixed detent. These are the major differences in the early gens and this pre 2K. 2K ones had vert feeds for the first time. There is. Much later 2K9 version as well that had an adjustable breach for vert, 45 and 90 feed.

Oh I guess I'll add my question here instead of tarting a new topis.
I can get a dust black micromag 2000 at a fair price (125$),decent shape, needs oring change on valve pin. my questions:
does it have removable feedneck (I know some have cocker threaded one, but what about others)?
Is there any kind of blowback/chopping issue?

a few did...post some pics if you can?

there shouldnt be any blowback/chopping issues...may short stroking issues until you get used to shooting it...the o-rings can be bought in a full rebuild kit from AGD, TunaMart, the magsmith, sometimes on ebay and the B/S/T section...good luck and get some pics..haha

also, does it need the expansion chamber when used with HP?
How does Retro work with 12g co2? does it freeze?
edit: questions from above

As you can see, the hose runs completely around the expansion chamber/foregrip/gas through. It does not need it when running HPA.

as for CO2 in a RT valve, don't. SOrry to redirect you there but they explain better than I can at the moment.

That's nicely set up

don't put co2 on it.
that looks like a cocker-threaded feedneck
that expansion chamber is a pretty hard to find piece
they WILL chop paint in stock trim (not like an electro with eyes)
if you want to virtually eliminate chopping get a level ten bolt package

CO2 will only work with Classic valves. Retro, RT, EMag, and X valves cannot handle CO2.

The threaded feednecks, IIRC are really uncommon. Most of the 2k MM's had pressfit ones. Frizzle Fry on AO or RobertSr here are probably the two most knowledgeable guys around on these, they may be able to help more. You can also contact Forest at Pro Team Products, and he may be able to help as well.

Nice setup.
