Leaky Mag

I have a lvl 7 Micro mag that doesnt really like me. When ever air it up, it leaks down the barrel but will stop leaking if I hold the trigger back. I am not a mag person so I dont know what needs to be replaced. If someone could point me in the right direction I could buy the part and get it ASAP.

first thing, make sure you are holding down the trigger when you gas it up.

If it still leaks, try replacing the bolt spring

Still leaks. So the bolt spring?

also check the o-rings in your on-off... It doesn't have a level 10 bolt does it?

NSD, Go to page #23 of that manual. There is a troubleshooting guide there that will help you isolate the leak.

Sounds like you need to replace the PT-Oring. (I would try that before replacing the bolt spring)

There is no way it could be the bolt spring unless you bolt isn't being returned at all. Here's what to do.

1) take the valve out of the gun
2) take the bolt off the valve
3) use a quarter or other coin to unscrew the brass powertube tip off
4) remove the o-ring and powertube spacer inside the powertube
5) clean the o-ring and spacer and apply Autolube (or any other type of pb oil) to the oring
6) reassemble the mag
7) hold the trigger down and screw the tank in
8) release the trigger

If it still leaks then you have a few options.

1) You can repeat the steps I listed above, but use grease like dow 33 on the oring. That might stop the leaking depending on how bad the oring is
damaged.
2) change the spacer in the powertube; if you go up a size the extra friction might seal the powertube
3) Replace the o-ring. If you do this then you might need to buy a powertube spacer kit because not all o-rings are the same size.

I think that above covers it.

either you need to change the spacer for a correct one or change the poowertubetip oring. That is what the problem is when you hold the trigger and it stops.

The problem lies somwhere with the bolt/spring/powertube assembly.

Well let me tell you how the leak started....

I havent used the gun in game yet because it wasnt feeding correctly. Someone on AOG suggested that my low velocity was the cause. So I get the gun out air it up and take a handful of paintballs outside. I turn the velocity screw around 2 full turns and take a shot. Man.... That thing was a cannon. It was shooting way over 300 maybe even above 400 fps. So curiousity got to me and I took a few more shots until pop. The leak starts. It was user error. If I hadnt been shooting with that high of a pressure it probably wouldnt have died.

No matter how it started, you should still follow the steps I listed above. That will stop the problem.

Your powertube oring is most likely blown out of the powertube. (I did this a few times just for fun)

You will find it either jammed all the way up the front of the bolt's guide rod (inside the bolt) or it has found it's way into the dump chamber. You will need some small pics or somehing to work it out of the dump chamber. It should still be good...so no worries there.

Don't try to remove the powertube if it's in the dump chamber.
