Level 10 tuning

So guys I have a x-valve, level 10 with ULT, but I can't get it to RT!
Is the idea to have the smallest carrier you can and then adjust spacers on the ult, running at 850 input pressure so should get something.

I've had Xvalves that would'nt RT at all at 850, that is the bare minimum. I Never messed with the ULT but I believe it is designed to sacrifice RTability for the supremely light trigger pull.

Someone with more info will likely chime in at any time. Good luck

I have a ULT but with my 1.2k output tank it still R/T's like a mad man. I honestly Cant see the difference between my standard on/off and my ULT one besides color of the o-rings. Im sorta new to mags myself. Heck I cant even get my Carrier out of my valve.
Wish I could be more help. Ill be watching this just to see the answer.

LevelX and ULT work independently of one another. It would possibly be easier to tune the L10 if you had a stock RT on/off, but if not, just take all of the shims out of the ULT and start tuning the L10 first.

For the L10, remove all shims from the L10. Use the largest carrier you can that does not leak. If you switch down to a smaller carrier, use the same O-ring. The carrier size is designated by dots and rings. Dots are 1/2 sizes, rings are whole. This is in the first post in the L10 thread in the sticky section.

Once you have the L10 tuned, you can start tuning the ULT. One tip, tune the L10 without the detents if you have a ULE body.

Also, as mentioned, not all X valves RT well with only 850psi. Some need 900+.

Yep, I'm not the specialist but 850 PSI is low to get a regular R/T's but you should have some kind of "3 shot burst" with the ULT installed.

Try to add shims on the ULT ON/OFF to reach the R/T's effect. (if you don't have ULT shims, note: 1 LVL10 shim = 2 ULT shims)

But to reach the stable "FULL AUTO", you will need 950 PSI or more.

I have a ult on my karta mag and a 1100 psi tank and it will rt but it is difficult to get it to continue to rt. Its possible just need enough output but that isn't really the point of the ult its to make a lighter more snappy trigger.

So if I read correctly, even buying a SHP reg from ninja won't fix the issue. It's more about the ULT than tuning?

Yes that is correct it is possible to get a xvalve with ult to ft with a shp tank but you really have to try hard to find the sweet spot and even then its hard to get a good sream of paint to keep going. With xvavle and rt on/off and shp it is effortless. I have an extra rt on/off I'd possibly be willing to trade pm me ill help you all I can I just got familiar with mags about 6 months ago.

While you are partially right, it is easier to sweet spot the RT on/off, it is very possible to get a ULT'd XValve RTing ropes of paint with an SHP reg if set up properly. It takes a lot of patience and tuning, but it can be done. I found that trigger stops helped quite a bit as well. I also got the sear mod done which moves the sear rod attachment point just a little higher and decreases the travel needed to trip the sear. I had Lukes Customs do both the trigger stops and sear mod.

As I mentioned above, you need to be sure that your L10 is properly tuned. If not tuned correctly, you can get minor bolt stick which can inhibit the RT effect. Also, what is your total setup? ULE or SS body?

a SHP reg, a tuned lvl 10 and a ULT w/5 shims is how my mech mag is set up, using a Logic UMF frame it has a nice snappy trigger pull and RT's very well?
