Hey Fellas, I wasn't looking for easy, well sort of, but, I'm not going to use a set screw. Nopt a bad solution., but not one for me. Everything is relative, so what I'm looking for is; Can I just pull the feedneck and single point it on a lathe, or, do I need to go the hard way and thread the neck in a CNC mill? Has anyone pulled the neck from their Micro Mag?

I was thinking of having mine milled down and threaded for a clamping feedneck.

I've tried it. Not enough meat between the breech and the milling around the site rail to thread it for anything conventional, except a smokestack ION neck and even then there's a a big gap. I suppose you could press something else in, but the something else would have to be custom made to be thick enough.

are you saying, if you remove the pressed on feed neck there is not enough meat to threat the area for a different feed neck?

because i was thinking leaving the pressed on feed neck, mill down the fatter area of that pressed on, and have it threat to fit some other feedneck or ego feed neck that clamps on to the new milled down neck.

how about using the old style spyder feed neck that have the two screw that hold it onto the body?

Spyder style would work with modification.

The issue is the area between the breech, and where the feedneck hole widens. It wouldn't support most available threading patterns because there's only room for a few threads; they'd strip out easily. I tried mine with an ION feedneck which is an ever so slightly tighter pattern than Angel, and I had to use a serious smokestack to get it to clear the body/siterail. In the long run I wasn't satisfied with it and pressed the old one back in.

Yeah, I knew it... Frizzle Fry was their best album. Well, Sailing the Seas of Cheese was pretty close, maybe too close to call...

Only twelve made with a threaded feedneck, huh?

I knew that my MM2K was pretty rare due to the threaded feedneck - good to know the official number that were made.
