I'll be filing off the wings of a trashcan ASA and tapping it for the 2X screws sometime soon. I'll post some pics if i'm feeling ambitious.

I believe I have a couple adapter plates, but it still leaves you with just the single screw, the ones pictured in reebs link. I'll double check if interested.

Seriously man, that's great, and exactly what I need.. not to mention a nice looking VASA.

Yeah it's easy; just take your time. I used a belt sander to remove the wings and finished it off with super fine sand paper by hand. Using a drill press will help keep the 10-32 tap holes straight and should have a hard-stop for the drill depth, which will give you predictable results.
