lightest rail?

Hey guys,

Basically, I'm going to be picking up a nice new mag I found, it comes with the logic alpha rail, but I'm not really into that.

What's the lightest one? The shadow is too plain for me personally, but I know that's supposed to be fairly light. Light and good looking?

Thanks

Luke-AO (lukescustoms.com) has several ULE profiles available, all are pretty light. This is his Ultralight,

Although, he has done one that is basically from one frame hole to the other. His Armada rail has more style with more metal.

Its really a shame you're not polishing/jeweling any more.

I never gave up jeweling, I just can't polish economically. Polishing stainless just takes a lot of work.

I believe the lightest ever made is the RPG Mini Shadow rail but as we now have so many ULE options around, you are counting ounces, if not portions of ounces.

Here is a pic of the rail I'm talking about:

And here are a couple pics of mine:

Portions of ounces is right. The RPG "Shadow Rail" was 2.7 ounces. Luke's Ultra Lite is 1.7 ounces. I can't find a reference for the "mini Shadow Rail". I would expect it to fall in between, since the Ultra Lite is ULE'd as well.

I haven't checked PBL for the mini. Are some of the RPG products still in production or stock? Rogue is hard to follow.

In another similar thread (I just realized it wasn't here), there are various mods and projects to make a "rail-less" frame which incorporates the sear. Personally, I would have to add a fore grip, so I don't think would loose an entire ounce there.

They are not easy to describe.

Rails? Where we're going, we don't need rails.

Uni-Frame?

These are the ones I was thinking of. Pneumagger had one a while back that fadded away.

Here it is...

New Frame - Preorder inquiry

Kind of like a uni-body, but different.
