Some might say this was when Smart Parts began the lies in order to rip off their customers. |

| Rec Poster | What the "Magic Box" did was add an expansion chamber. When the on/off opened it let in a measured amount of air. By allowing that air to expand into a larger volume, it LOWERED the pressure. By lowering the pressure of the air pushing the ball down the barrel there was less deformation of the paintball, therefore more accurate and SUBSTANTIALLY longer range. Prior to the "Magic Box" mod I was consistantly out-ranged by Autocockers, after this mod we were able to stand back and long-ball the cockers. That was NO HYPE! that was fact, that showed up in every tournament starting in spring of 93. The "Smartmag" did the same thing by increasing the air chamber behind the bolt by machining it to closer tolerances than the AGD Valves. This gave an internal expansion area that was bigger and did the same thing as the "Magic Box". Both worked very well, and it help myself and sponsored teams like Texas Storm, Jax Warriors, and All Americans kick *** for quite a while. ![]() |

Tom Kaye himself said this Quote:

Two projectiles traveling at the same velocity will travel the same distance. Of all the laws, Smart Parts has yet to break the laws of physics. | |

And Silverback, Tom Kaye and several other industry leaders performed many tests about the so-called 'deformation' of a paintball upon acceleration and the whole 'high-pressure/low volume vs. low-pressure/high volume' debate. What they found is #1) the ball does not significantly deform under normal operating pressures of a marker and #2) high pressure or low pressure, they both get the ball to ~280 fps and therefore will have the same velocity. The Gardner boys never could come up with any lab results about their 'deforming ball' theory.
