Splash mag body...Eclipse?

Well, I'll get the obligatory pics out of the way first.

So, I picked this body up on ebay last month, and finally got around to scrounging up the rest of the pieces to assemble it. Just wondering if anyone out there in MCB land has any info on the history of it.

Some things of interest:
  • Splash pattern definatly resembles the Eclipse splash kits. I picked up a kit that I hoped would match; the colors were right on, but the gold splashes were noticable thicker on the kit than on the body.
  • Integrated rail, similar to the standard PTP micromags. Tapered side of integrated rail is thinner than the tapered end of a standard mag rail. Result is that a standard vertical adapter will fit, but can be twisted ~5 degrees, and cannot be tightened. Also means that grip frames milled to fit a rail are not flush with the body.
  • Removable powerfeed, similar to the PTP ones, but slightly different. Held in place only by screws, no guiding milled into it.
  • Accepts standard twist-lock barrels.
  • Has no groove milled for the valve oil input snap-pin. I had to remove the snap-pin on my valve to get it to fit in there.

I just saw something about these in a UK Paintball mag from like 96 that I have... It has a mag show case artical and a body exactly like that was pictured.. no info.

But... for 1996 its way way way to complex for eclipse to handle.

Maybe Toxic Toys they had alot of mag parts back in the day

I'm speechless.

I've never seen anything like that at all. Quite a find!

Thanks for all the good input guys!
I was pretty happy when I snagged it with a reasonable BIN (~$75 shipped) about 20 minutes after the auction started.

Perhaps I'll shoot earon an email and see if it's his handywork.

HA!!!

Found it!!!

Hi! The name of the company was TVL and this Mag was sold as ‘V2’ or ‘Boxer’ Automag in the early ninties across Europe. There was another nice milling which didn’t cover the valve and some freaky splash designs available. Retail Price was about $1850!

More pics of the gun: http://s166.photobucket.com/albums/u...ll-paintball/?

One of the Automag online guys has one!

Mystery solved! Warm fuzzies for everyone.

Woot! Only took 7 months to solve the mystery!

Thanks much Robert...I kept digging at it every once in a while hoping to come up with something, but never did turn anything useful up.
How'd you come across that? Got a link to a thread somewhere else that they're discussing it? A search for TVL and boxer on AO didn't bring anything back.

$1850? I guess I could give someone a heck of a deal and take an even $1000 for just the body

Thanks again Robert!
