You'd be lucky enough to find ANY mag parts at the local stores around my area (north jersey). Seems like lots o stores up here completely stopped stocking them.

I just call up Tunaman though and im usually set. But still...

I would'nt even have nightmares about sending my guns into the local shops here...or even trying to get parts from them. I do my own stuff and buy all my parts through the internet.

I've only been playing for a little over 6 years and I hate seeing some of the retards who own these shops reveling in their limited success. Anybody can sell an Ion to a noob. All they care about it fast & cheap and that is what the Ion provides. I'm not bashing the gun, actually half tempted to get one for my girlfriend (she can't walk my ULT'd RT Pro and throws a fit about it).

I just hate going into a shop and mentioning the Sovereign and everyone in the place is clueless. Shop ownership should be reserved for those of us whom are truly passionate about the technology that drives this sport, regardless of how "old" it is...

I catch the crap for being "cheap" too, it's not that I'm cheap its just that so much of what these stores have to offer is boring and of no intrest to me. I don't want something from Tippmann, Kingman, Smart Parts, Dye or Eclipse... I want to be different!

The internet is the reason for the demise of many local shops. You can't keep smart talented people working if everyone goes on line to save a few dollars. How ever this is a vicious cycle, one could argue the lack of customer service and depth of knowledge cause the customers to go online.

When I open my field next year I have no intention of any kind of shop. It's just not worth it. Once things are rolling for a while I'll stock o-rings and batteries but not much else.

That's a good idea Tug. Our field is just a field as well, no store part. The only equipment you can buy at the field is barrel socks, 9v batteries and squeegees.

There's a store in my town that doesn't have a field, just a store. We have an agreement with them that we send business there way, and they send business our way. It works out quite well for both businesses.

Wow, to have gramps and grizzly as your gun techs is cool.
Talk about some history of the sport there.

I don't think it ever hurts to stock one or two blowbacks. There will be some new plays that have no idea paintball is so popular online.
