| MCB Member | brass is softer. this is known. Just try tossing around a brass instrument (french horn, trombone, tuba, trumpet, etc.) and see how well it stands up.....you'll get bent tubes in time at all. What makes brass so good is that it has such a low friction coefficient with regards to the gelatin that pball shells are made of. That, and the eliptical honing PPS gives their barrels makes for a sweet combination. Though brass IS softer than aluminum. So you need to be a bit more careful with it. But, it isn't THAT fragile, so just be cautious but not over-protective.

| Idiot savant of Jenga | Maintenance complaints = sigh. If you perform regular maintenance on your marker, is it really that big of a deal to rinse your barrel in some warm soapy water? Don't you do that anyway? A bare brass barrel ages quite well with regular use. No polishing needed; unless that's your thing. My only complaint with brass is that it can't be anodized. Definitely not a deal breaker unless you want a pink barrel...

How many of us have tried both PPS brass and brass from some other random brand? I know I haven't but if someone who has tried both would like to throw in their input, is brass that much better? From doing research and such, I usually take everything with a grain of salt. That being said, PPS selling brass barrels and making claims that brass is accurrate...well you get my idea, no one is gonna bad mouth what they're selling. I still like my .685 brass for my phantom, it's never paint picky, eats what you throw in it, even times when paint is .003 too big
