xvalve effeciency?

Anyone have a rough idea of how many shots their Xvalve mag gets? I have an RT with a lv 10 and I'd like to know how many shots I should expect. Gimme some rough estimates with tank sizes and pressures.

The rule of thumb is:

10 shots per cubic inch at 3000 psi
15 shots per cubic inch at 4500 psi

If you are new to AutoMags you should try this forum. http://www.automags.org/forums/index.php?

Does the lv 10 effect effeciency?

OneFeather 09-12-2006 10:38 AM

Yeah, you are right it does to a small extent, but it will not be noticeable untill you are running a 12 gram or maybe a 13ci tank air source. Is there a specific setup you are looking at?

In my opinion you can do as much to help your air effeciency by barrel selection as with an AutoMag bolt.

You'll get maby 2-3 shots less a tank with it.

wow, thats awesome, I didn't realize it made so little of a differance to gas effeciency, i heard rumors it badly effects it.

Well... all mags have never been that effeicent, because they have such good consistancy.

mark 10-03-2006 05:32 PM

That's not entierly true. They get very good efficiency, except because they need 800psi to function you cant reach very deep into a tank, so that's about 800psi a tank that you can't use...

What's efficiency like on C02 using a classic valve w/ lvl 7?

... sorry just curious, my first mag is coming in soon :)

The more pressure you give a Mag the better it works, too. If you can give it 1000-1200psi you would be amazed at what it will do. This is most true for RT's and X's but they all like high pressure. This makes the shots you get out of a tank even fewer.
