theres a dang good reason why classics, and everything else untill the X was stainless, becuase it has to be. until the advent of some really strong 7000 series almuniums, aluminum just is not strong enough, and since its softer, is harder to machine to the accuracy you need in a mag. hense, the X valve being made of 7000 series. a classic would cost the same as an X from a production standpoint - so why even bother?

Concur, I believe that was where I was trying to lead us, just not as blatant....
That is exactly the timeline if you look at it. By the time AGD really started embracing the lighter weight materials, these materials had established norms....cocker threading, etc...for most markers out there.
