Center feed Mag body w/twistlock??

So, I've got a pretty much stock Classic Mag I'm looking to upgrade and I think I'd like a center feed body to start with. I've got a couple decent twistlock barrels I'd like to get some use out of as well. I don't need anything particularly flashy.. black or silver/raw is fine.

Does this animal exist? I've check AO and googled a bunch without much luck. Am I crazy guys? Can these be found for less than $100?

Anyone have one they want to part with? Anyone you know of producing, selling these?

Thanks!

I had one. They can be found on the AGD site. Here:

COLLECTOR'S ITEM! Automag Centerfeed Raw Mainbodies

Make sure you get a CF barrel though... I sold my CF body because it is harder to find CF barrels.

Neat. Now, how can I figure out if my current twistlock barrels will work in this guy? If they work in my current Classic Mag should I expect them not to work in a CF Body?

If I remember correctly they only have a single L-channel rather than the normal two (or single T-channel). If they work with RF/LF Mags, they won't work with a CF body. You can get some RF/LF bodies to line up and sort of stick, but it will not truly lock into place. I hope that helps.

Sounds like I need to choose between a CF body and my barrels.

I really appreciate the help.

Not if you're as stubborn as I am. I ended up with a CF twistlock in a box o' parts a few years ago, and it's still on my primary gun. I use a stock minimag barrel (keep reading) and an 8.5" Taso pro series. I used a dremel to widen the barrel opening on the side where it was closest. It takes a bit, but it works. Just gotta make it smooth. I decided that modifying the barrels was more important to me than playing with a non-vertical body (especially since I already had the minimag barrel). The only downside is that if you use that barrel on a different body, it's a bit tough to get it slotted into place.

Whatever you decide, good luck!

Or, just buy one of the 'mag to 'cocker barrel adapters out there (Doc has one, as does Noxx55). I know the Doc's adapter will fit CF bodies, and pretty sure Noxx's will as well. Then, whichever body you decide to use on your 'mag, your 'cocker barrels (which there are thousands to choose from) will work on it. How easy is that?

Luke's Customs does a vert-feed mod that allows you still use your standard twist lock barrels. I have had it done to two of my guns and I am happy with it.http://www.lukescustoms.com/page0027.htm

It's possible to get away without modifying your barrel, you just have to stop twisting about half way in. Just be sure to look down the feedneck to see when you have the holes lined up. And don't let it twist at all when you're playing ..

.. maybe I should just take a dremel to my barrel.
