Rails for MAg pump

I am starting to shop for a Mag pump. Is there any rail I CANNOT use?
Do I need to modify a ULE body?

You need a pump milled body and a pump milled rail - you can mill any body and any rail as far as I know. You might be lucky enough to find some that are already milled, though.

You have to get a AM/MM length rail milled for pump. The available pump kits will not work with an RT length rail. As far as a body goes yes if you use a ule body it must be modified for the kit.

So a Rainman pump kit only works with an AM/MM rail?

an AM/MM length rail, with the 1/4" bolt hole where it is on the AM/MM rail. I'm pretty sure. . .

Correct. The RT length rail is just to long to work with the kit. Now rainman maybe able to make you a custom kit to get an RT length rail to work but it would cost ya. Also a ule rail will not work since it has all that internal milling but maybe Rainman can do some custom work to his kit to make it work.

Hmm, I know for sure I saw a pump-milled RT rail out there somewhere. Must have been a custom pump kit, then...

Forgot about ULE rails, though. There's often not enough meat on them to hold the pump rod where it should be. You can still get a rail pump milled and then ULEd around that channel, though.

I have an AGD pump kit and the pump rod isn't long enough to use on a RT length rail. The front of the RT style rail is longer and since the pump kits mount on the front of the rail you would need to make a longer pump rod for it. Do you have a pump kit on a RT length rail I can check out?

Edit: Did Jay finally make rods long enough for RT rails?

I thought there were RT-length pump rails out there, but the fact that you haven't heard of them is making me doubt myself...
