Damn... one of these days I should post pics of the pneu-mag I built. It's not so shabby.

Hate to necropost, I know this thread is back from Dec 08 but....

With a classic valve, is it necessary to have a modified sear? I just got a pneud z-grip and its not working. I've adjusted the lpr so there is no more of what sounds like a leak and the piston is actuated. Dropped in the rest of the mag and no luck -- adjusted the piston distance from the sear and the same happened.

Atm, I am not using an on.off.

You need to make sure that the ram is far enough back that the sear is able to be reset. Also you have to have sufficent pressure to acuate the sear lever otherwise you'll just short stroke.

What was leaking when the lpr pressure was turned up?? Was it a constant leak or only when you fired.

Do you have a normal sear w/cleavis and a regular trigger frame? and does it fire properly with those??

My puenmag crashed out because of bolt stick, a liberal amount of oil and I was rock'n again.

It was a constant leak -- when I lower the lpr there isn't enough pressure to create force against the sear.

Normal sear w/ cleavis, cleavis removed and the trigger frame is a z-grip, doesn't fire at all.

Ok so it won't fire with a normal grip frame and normal sear. That would rule out the punemag frame and sear being the problem.

So you need to get the valve to fire at all in the first place. Have you disassembled the valve and lightly oiled all the orings and the power tube? Do you have a regular on/off assembly and your not trying to use a ULT.

Does it sound like it's short stroking, do you think you are getting enough pressure to the ram to actuate the sear?

If yes then is your ram positioned in such a way that it's blocking the sear from being fully reset.

If not is the ram actualy long enough to actuate the sear you may need to extend the ram.
