Since we don't see many splashed classic RT's, i thought I would share this one with you guys. After my protein exam this morning, i went home to to discover the mailman knocking on my door with a nice big box in his hands. A red splashed barrel was poking through the box. I thought to myself "that's can't be a good start". So i go inside and can't wait to open it to have a look at it's condition. With the barrel sticking out, i thought to myself that it would be in crappy shape. And wouldn't you know it, it was the dirtiest marker I ever laid eyes on. It did look in good physical shape though, and the barrel wasn't damaged from the shipping. There are some marks on the barrel, but are hidden by the shroud. I had planned on cleaning it anyways, used markers usually need a good clean when it gets a new home. But never to that extent. So i start a movie and start cleaning the darn thing....then another one because i wasn't finished. It took a total of 4 hours of scrubbing, dipping, greasing, lubing and a lot of paper towels to build it back up to it's original glory. I noticed the the previous owner had never even took it apart. The inside of the rail is completely mint. Believe it or not, the outside is almost mint as well! The thing that isn't in good shape is the bolt and sear. Those have been worn pretty badly. Now for the unveiling of this little gem! Before: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() That isn't the flash. It's paint breaking down in hot water. ![]() After 4 hours and still have some work left: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have to admit that it is a fine, uncommon specimen. The barrel has dual wire nubbins. Is that normal on classics? I hope you enjoyed!!! Last edited by michbich; 02-03-2009 at 05:43 PM. |

I can see right through that sogged up paintball much. It is therapeutic to clean stuff like that. I would probably have done it for free for someone if they asked me just because it is so fun. Nice gun. If you want a shorter more maglike trigger pull, get an intelliframe or a stock plastic frame for that gun. Benchies are goofy on mags. But not bad..just goofy. |

Beautiful classic RT. You have the "bad" PF plug with the flat spot. Get the parabolic plug ($5) to help feed her.

Cunha, you just don't like them because you don't like the RT effect. ![]() The Benchy frames make the trigger pull longer, which means it's easier to find and hold the RT sweet spot.

Very very nice. Ive got 2 smear rt's & a new blue smear rail Im trying to get a barrel & siterail for sometime I'll have to chase down a red smear. Looks like you got lucky on condition. Last mag I got that looked like that the paint had eaten away the ano on the barrel where it was inserted into the body & eaten the ano where the body sat on the rail. |

I don't even own a 'mag and I think she's a beaut! I agree with the whole theraputic cleaning thing too. Cleaned up a friend's sadly abused PGP and brought it back to top form.
