Chimera...a few changes, what do ya think?

There has been some interest lately to bring the Chimera out of retirement. If/when this happens, there are going to be a few changes. The first being getting rid of the bumped 'AGD' trigger guard.

Members of PBL voted in this poll: Chimera Trigger Guard... - PB Legion, and chose A. The poll is still open, so for those of you here that are members at PBL, please vote and let your voice be heard!

Ive mocked up the trigger guard chosen so far by the majority, and made a few cosmetic changes. There will be other minor changes, but this will be the jist of it.

Let me know what you think:

Edit: This is perfect for the new micromag bodies coming out. Still big enough for an internal stealthy lpr setup?

It's too angular for the shape of the rest of the frame. Instead of 2 sharp bends, I think 1 flowing curve would look better. Although, I've already have one of your chimeras, so design changes won't make me buy one.

That looks great as is! Any thoughts as to a time frame if it goes into production?

Random musings...

If you take out the AGD, bumped trigger guard some of the foregrips that work in the current configuration (PTP gas-thrus come to mind) will not fit.

Timeframe is determined by the interest thread for these on PBLegion.com.

Very true if you are using an Automag/MiniMag rail, because the rail is shorter.

Realize too that there are some parts(expansion chambers come to mind) that will not fit even with the AGD hump.

Its really a matter of making parts for what users currently use. But thats one reason why the front of the frame is curved, to accomodate as best as possible for this.

I like it. Way better. Dont curve the front of the frame too much (maybe not at all) it will look like a dye frame and you will get sued! :P Mostly if it is curved it wont match anything..

Also as always remember not to build in a dovetail rail and ruin my life

Thanks a lot, these frames look fantastic. Of course all of my "Dont do this and "do this" are just my opinions and really, the frame will be great no matter what.

There have been some asking for an integrated rail. Nothing has been ruled out at this point.

Man... that looks just like the grip frames that WDP was putting on their "Fly" Angels back in 2003-ish.

Supposed to be ergonomic, but I don't play enough speedball to get carpel tunnel from holding my gun like that.

Good luck,
D
