Question A different kind of springfeed.

im not sure who would be the best person for this any more but i am after a spring feed.

not that simple... im after a square (or d shaped if your up for it) spring feed for first strike rounds. It is going to be attached to a warp feed left ule mag body how ever is best (possible permanently in which case it will require a feed hole)

something like this (apologies to whom ever did this i have searched but i cant find you again!!!)

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...springfeed.png

if there are any airsmiths doing spring feeds who can do this please let me know. i have mocked up some "Prototypes" but for various reasons i have not been able to do a final product.

you could use a piece of round tube and square tube cut appropriately to make that shape. how you fasten them together is up to you, i would use either some socket cap screws or clamps of a sort.

Haha, that looks like something I made on Sketchup a couple months ago.

I thought you could have a D-shaped follower (maybe radiused to cup around the FS round) with a post coming out of the 'back' and then entering a rounded plug that has the locking knob, so that the whole thing can turn but will keep a constant pressure on the FS rounds.

Would a magazine from a tippmann smg work? Slot the body and add a pin to relieve pressure on the spring. These use a unwinding spring compared to a standard coil spring. Not sure how much pressure it would put on the paint.

hey mate it probably is yours!!!!

it doesnt have to be a D shape a square tube works just as well just as long as it is .69 roughly (i have been working to 18mm square) but that is hard to find.

At the moment my prototype has angle glued inside a 25mm to bring it down to 18mm but thats a bit messy... if i dont get any joy on a custom or a lead on some square tube with the right size internal measurements im thinking of using either angle or sheet to try and get this made!!!!

Shoot me a PM with some more details, if you can include some pictures of the prototype, I should be able to help you out.

Cheers'

You could probably take a piece of metal and hammer it around a .69 OD piece of barstock, then bend two other triangular shapes in it to hold in the bottom, giving you a rough square shaped bottom.

Just trying to think in sheet metal terms.

I'm pretty sure the system would function better if the FS rounds were held upside-down. Then all it should need is a proper ramp and angled follower.
