The die equivalant to a bottoming tap?

Is there such a thing? I have a decently short thread that I want to be as fully formed as possible. Or, is there a better way of doing this?

thread as much as you can the normal way then turn the die over and go SUPER slow with plenty of cutting oil on the back side
