Got to play in the shop a little bit yesterday. The monsoon hit pretty hard and about 30% of the floor was wet, coming in at every seam. That's what happens when it rains sideways.

Anywho, this little guy is 1.25" diameter. Plunged with an end mill and it cut very nicely. The story part of this is that when it fell out the bottom it landed perfectly flat on the vise. When it did, it made a 'tink' sound and me and my buddy on a nearby machine looked at each other and said, "I heard it too." Stopped the mill, found the disc sitting on the vise, tool looked fine. We both commented on the interesting sound the disc made when it fell.

I like those things, surprised they don't have a name - "endmill babies" or something.

It reminds me of a pizza cutter. Tapered to the edge and very sharp.

I hate those caps. At my old shop those inconel caps would get jammed in the holes and blow the hole wide open. Boss wouldn't let me solve the problem. Constantly bad parts.

The guy with the $1500 Clausing didn't answer and never returned the call. Same thing with the email I sent before that. Must be gone.

However, in the next 3 hours something is ending and I'm the highest bidder. I think my kidneys are going to run out of panic juice pretty soon, so I'm going to try to find something to take my mind off of it and pass the time. I'm trying to tell myself that I'm not going to get it so it won't be so much of a bummer when I don't get it.
