Neat.

You guys have lots of machines that aren't busy 24/7 and I have lots of CAM software (mastercam, unigraphics, powermill, solid cam, so on so forth) and parametric solid modeling experience.

Sounds like we need MCB machining project time.

Sweet part. I wish I was not stuck in 1960's gcode At least I am getting better at using HSMExpress.

Man I want to learn G-code and for those that know it, I'm jealous of you.
Hell I still have problem with my Speed & feeds.
And for those that know cad cam or master cam or what ever you use I'm very jealous of you. The best I can do is Bob cam 5 but work on are DFX reader on the machine.

Ken.. I have around a good 50 hours of on hands Mastercam and still learning things... its a hell of a program.

Ive made some neat 3d things in class but nothing that I can say I really like except my skeleton in a coffin... I made two one for me and one to impress a chick, yeah......

Solid modeling Im unstoppable in Solid Works right now, I cranked through around 20 design prototypes today at work... I LOOOOOOOVE that program.

And since were talking about cool toys we all get to play with at work, while I dont operate on a normal basis I do babysit it some times on longer job runs when there isn't a lot of programming to do.

A bystronic byspeed.... horrid pic(and not the one at my job) but its a big *** laser cutter.

BigOldSkool... Check out HSMExpress. That *FREE* program ROCKS!

The skeleton coffin is so totally cool! My niece would love something like that... Guess I will have to make the solid model and machine it

BOS, now I hate you even more

BTW, you didn't make it to TunaBall. It is starting to turn into the airsmith's convention, paintball game and drinking contest. Had a bunch of interesting people there this year.

Which version of MC are you using? I found X3 to be a difficult and annoying program to use.

X5... I was able to "find" it for home use.

FYI... Do you solid modeling is Solidworks if you can, save as a STEP file then import to mastercam it makes your life so much easier.

Tunaball is an event I got to get to, but this year was crazy for me, I had class and the new job and the old job. That all added to very little time for me. But now my week ends are finally freeing up. By June Ill be clear off all school obligations then all thats left is work

I was doing exactly that... Modeling in SW, then export as STEP and import into MC. Unfortunately, X3 is a pain to use. It "thinks" differently than I do. This HSMExpress is cool, because it is almost exactly like modeling in SW, and is fully integrated!

Caveman!

I have the model and the code for those... Now all I need is the time to test it and run you a dozen of them.

Unfortunately, the storms took out the power, so even though I wasn't at work, I couldn't do anything useful in the shop... Grrrrrrr.
