GX-3 Stock Class Mods Needed

I think this is the right section, let me know if it isn't.

I'm looking for somebody who can let me know, if the following mods are doable and about how much it would be ($). I have a GX-3 that I'm converting to stock class. What I'd need is to have the body drilled for a reverse phantom feed port and round off the edges near the vert ASA attachment point so it can take 2K+ vert ASAs.

The only problems I see would be the raised areas in front of and behind the feedneck, which would probably need to be cut down to mount the feedblock, and the rail on the back/top getting in the way of the feedblock.

If by some chance there is a way to mount a feedblock facing back on a GX-3 body, I'd be interested, but I figured the only option would be reverse mount because of the rail.

I could help you out. I've done a few conversions of this sort before. I think your cheapest/easiest option would be to mill the rail and tabs flat. Then, drill and tap both the front and back of the feedport. The standard phantom feedblock can be modified with a second mounting hole to mount either forward or backward. PM me if you might be interested. I can also mill the radius for the vert adapter without a problem.

So Lexiones doesn't seem to be replying to my PMs, not sure why. Anybody else interested? Basically just rounding off body @ vert ASA point, milling down rail on body, and tapping for phantom feed block.

So I found the GX-3 body sitting in the bottom of my gear bag. Guess I'm still interested if anyone can do this.

I have been thinking about doing a stock class project for a while so this has been a problem that has been on my mind. My issue is I like options and I would hate to lock myself into a feed system that cant really be reversed. So what I have been thinking is moding the neck to an empire style neck and using a empire stick feed. That way when I change my mind in the future I can always just put a clamping feed back on and go back to open class.

If you would be interested in a mod like that then that would fall under my empire feedneck conversion and you can check out pics and such my services in my sub forum. Or of course you can just pm me with any questions.

you can also go ccm t2/spyder style feedneck, two screws on top and just get a ccm spyder feedneck if wanting to go back. A phantom feed will mount to a spyder/t2 feedneck screw hole with a little filing to the phantom feed, the bolt hole is slightly farther spaced. Also lets the phantom feed go rock back or rock forward.
