Master Metal Whittler
well I appreciate hearing your opinion and agree to many of your points. hopefully someone will be able to take care of him for a lesser charge. I like to hear other peoples price points/experience to make sure I stay reasonable (when I'm not machining parts).

Looking at that I see approx. 3 hours shop time. and most shops I know of for CNC charge $80ish per hour. This could also be done in an Acu-Rite Milling machine aswell. But even if its done in a Acu-Rite it would take longer.

I've been a machinist for 20 yrs. Production and job shop. For a 1 off it looks easy enough to complete in 3-4 hrs with manual work. I wouldn't waste my time doing it with a CNC machine. The last time I quoted manual work was for $35-$50 an hr.

By what i see in the drawing it's front asa. Just looks like the 3d ate his threads or he has issues making them. (I know i do in drawings)
Also looks like theirs an 1/8npt port out the bottom.
On the body end i would recommend to any to get the body sent to them. As the mellinum bodys very. Plus it's safer to have.
The part looks like it could be done on lathe for the most part. With some fancy offsetting. Then finished up on a mill. That's just me.
I'd figure i'd mess a few before i got it right. SO i won't get involved in quoting it.
Making paintball fun again

Wow, this thread really exploded. I would do it myself but I don't have access to machines anymore. I have a couple of friends that will do it for free if I buy the tooling but I have no use for the tooling afterwards so I thought I'd throw it to the hobbyists here.
Rainman is the closest on how I thought I would do it.
Either way, I'm working with someone and I'll take care of him!

To all those thinking 3hrs would be enough, you were right. Manual lathe with eccentric setups, then on the manual mill for the couple holes/threads and the angled corners of the block. Fun piece to machine.
