High pressure/ Low pressure in a Nova

I just got a Nova 700 in "pretty darn good" condition and I would like to keep it that way. I know there is a myth going around about how (in general) a low pressure compressed air tank is better for the regulator on most guns, than the high pressure output tanks. I don't think this is true and I know the manual for the Nova just says don't exceed 900 psi, but when I bought my Nova, the previous owner told me to use a low pressure output tank. I really don't want to have to buy another tank or reg for one, so... Am I okay at 850 psi use or should I use a 450 psi output tank to make sure my nova stays working for good while?

You are fine with even running CO2 as that is what the Nova's were designed to run on. The gun itself will regulate down to the needed operating pressure.

The manual says you can use C02 if you have an anti-syphon tank. I was just wondering if anyone has used one long enough to see the high pressure messes with the reg at all.

The on board reg on the Nova is the best one the paintball industry has ever seen it is over built to out lat the gun.

That and the fact that the damn gun is filled with bb's to prevent liquid ever getting through the reg.

Anti-siphon isn't totally necessary if you run the tank at an angle and run a loop of stainless hose from the bottom line to the gun.
