Where should I send my highlander for anodizing? So it's been a few years since I've needed a project anodized, and after reading a few horror stories about gruntbull I'm not sure who to turn to. I've heard good things about lasermygun.com as well as ano-tech metal finishes, has anyone had any work done by them recently? I'm not sure what I'm looking for yet but I know it will involve masking, polishing, and potentially a splash or acid wash of some kind. |
Bazooka_boy does very nice work. |
Found him over on AO, thanks! |
I just got my Evil-M back from ATMF on Thursday. They did a great job and for a great price. For a Type II ano it's $90 for the entire gun for a single color, regardless of how many pieces there are. Type III is $120 I think. It took about four weeks to get done. http://www.mcarterbrown.com/forums/a...ml#post1859990 |
I dropped anotech an email a few weeks ago as they were my first choice but never heard back from them, which email address did you contact them at? |
ATMF would be my first choice aswell.. Ballers Inc/FBM started their anno-services again aswell :) heard that they do great work :) |

ATMF has done my 04 Pro Stock, 07 Cyborg, and 04 Excal. They will do my Evil M and Merlin. They don't charge by the number of pieces either. |
Yeah the only ones I would trust with my highlander are Bazooka_boy and ATMF but personally I would go with Bazooka first because of his incredible work quality and quick turn around time as he only does one gun a week and his prices are pretty good as well. |
Ok, I've contacted Bazooka_Boy and have left a voicemail for Kelly at ATMF. I'ms till not 100% on what I'm going to have done, maybe you guys can give me some input. This is my highlander: http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h6...anderex002.jpg I'm going to have everything done in this splash/acid wash combo: http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h6...lineexcal5.jpg EXCEPT, I'm planning to have the iconic Highlander Milling masked off with the three rectangles done in clear along with the raised part of the swooshes. I'm also going to have the valleys/lower swooshes done in black. I think it will look great but I'm not sure the black valleys will show up well, any thoughts on a better way to contrast them with the splash and the clear? |
