FSDO with 04 Viking

Hi guys... I'm getting some pretty major first shot drop off with my 2004 Viking. I did not have the issue when I had my Tadao musashi board installed. However I am having the issue with my Ebisu board installed. I did try to have the same settings on the Ebisu as the musashi. I've got a 2 liter plus reg installed with an rt valve as well.

What do you guys think I should do to fix this?

I'd try installing the original board frist and see if that fixes it. If not, then you know its the board.

Wouldn't hurt to try a new battery as well as trying the old board. Do you have a gauge tool?

Here's what i found when I googled "why am I getting first shot drop off":

"abs does 2 things, to the best of my knowhow. it ups the amount of air used to cycle the bolt, as well as the amount of air for the first shot. this prevents first shot drop off and bolt stick. first shot drop off can happen if the bolt doesnt fully cycle on the first shot in a string. so, your abs programing, once you get the upgraded board, will use more air to force the bolt open, and it will increas the amont of air for the first shot to insure it fires without drop off "

Guess I need to check my abs. I know its at some ridiculous high number. Maybe I will reset the Ebisu board to defaults then start from there...

id say there is nothing wrong with having your SCM anywhere between 60 and 70 psi

and definelty check your ABS, and try bumping your dwell.. i know the stuff always says set it at 10, but ive found running the dwell a lil higher makes the velocity alot more stable, i think i run mine on 12

FSDO

The last time I had this issue it was related to the Dwell.

You should try to set the dwell at 12 or higher and see if this
fixes the FSDO.
