Dan Voils posted in a thread on pbnation a couple yrs ago about how AKA was looking into having Eclipse make a frame for the Evil M, AKA sent a prototype of the M over to eclipse. Eclipse at the time was only making accesories for other guns and the eblade kits. Eclipse stoped contacting AKA and a few months later came out with the Ego. I can't seem to find the thread where he posted that, but it was something like that. I do know that AKA and MacDev had a good relationship, but I don't know the story on the cyborg / evil M.

Building an M makes it truly a 1 of a kind, while there are a hand full of M's out there each one is different. Best part of it is you can built it how you want. Not just another cookie cutter ego.

Wow. This kind of makes me even more sad for AKA. I mean after the whole SP debacle they must be one of the most f'd over companies in the business. But such innovators! It's a real shame.

I'm sure they feel they've been put through the ringer and don't want any part of it but some part of me feels they must have thought or still think they can produce another marker, especially with the demand from hardcore enthusiasts. Maybe Jared at DC would even be a part of the process...

True but they do require little maintenance. Look I'm not saying a Borg would ever replace an M but they are virtually the same marker in terms of functionality. If function is more important than the cache of owning an m the Borg is probably a good substitute.

Read the backstory on Aaron Alexander's family business, LEADS and what SP did to them.

In 2002, AKA was on top of the world, by 2004, the Smarts Parts lawsuit had wrecked their potential and seriously damaged the family run enterprise.

Where can I find this?

Ive always known the story about how SP tried to screw not only my beloved AKA but the entire PB industry! But it would be an interesting read to hear the total details.

I know that Glen Palmer told SP to shove it when they threatened him as he is one of the godfathers of PB all together. What a crazy mess.

AKA won't me making any more guns. Aaron K. Alexander (AKA), left the company. Most of the inovative designs that came from AKA came from Aaron.

Do a little searching in the AKA section in pbnation. Theres been a lot of threads on the SP AKA thing, and Aaron and Dan leaving AKA.

It really is sad, because I know that Aaron hinted (before he left AKA), that he was working on a third generation excalibur, and a spool valve gun. Just think how big they would have been by now.

Im DISGUSTED with SP. It pains me to use freaks with my DW barrels. Actually I just bought a null with techt's iFit kit so maybe i can ditch the sp kit.

But they got what they deserved in the end... broke and GONE. Sc*mbags!
