Serial was partly milled off I'd say. Some VLM serials were starting with SA though..

That would be a VLM. I have a V1 Revenge with serial number SA178. As well all the Merlins Splat put out used inline sliders. It appears to be one of the most milled, lightest VLM bodies I've seen out of Splat. I would even go as far as to calling it a Revenge V1LE.

Is there any way to really tell for sure? I would just like to know what it is.

Remove frontblock and look at the bottom tube hole. If that hole is smaller than the top tube, it's a VLM, if it's the same size as the upper tube, it's a Merlin. It will be obvious. Just the volumizer tells it's pre2k specs, which is VLM. And the half gone serial hints toward a VLM and not a Merlin too.

This is a Merlin extrusion, see how the bottom tube is as big as the upper tube. Remove your front block and you'll see what we are telling you.

the lower tube is smaller so its a VLM.. is it possible it might be SA008? I dont have the marker in hand. the body is at a buddies house but from what he says and the pics he has sent it clearly states A008. Im buying an inline merlin and building that first regardless just what to find out what this is before i build it. I can ship it to someone who knows more than me to look at it. I have been in the army for 6 yrs and really dont know anything anymore since i have been out of the game for so long
