barrels for a viking

What barrel threading do Vikings take? I am looking at one without a barrel and am hoping I have something on hand that will fit.

They take cocker. Should be fairly easy to find as most high end guns take them now.

But if you're due for a new barrel system I swear by the Disruptive Paintball Death Touch barrel kit. Easily the quietest and most accurate system Ive ever shot. With 8" control bores the viking shoots MONEY. I wouldnt use anything but the 15" or a Deadly Winde kit. But the DP is still better than the DW in my opinion. And yes they are cocker threaded.

Can you underbore on your Viking, though? I tried it today on mine (with admittedly brittle paint) and smashed balls left and right; I figured open bolt + underbore = blender.

I usually use a Sanchez machine barrel kit (SM-1) with my viking, and I love it. You'd be hard pressed to find a better barrel kit, IMO. I wasn't crazy about the way their old Orbium barrels looked, but the SM-1s are great. Accurate and easily as quiet as an old 16 inch all american barrel.

I underbore with my Viking and a Freak kit all the time. I place a ball in the inserts and when I can't blow it through, I go one size smaller.

I used to use my .686 boomy on my viking when we shot xBall / DXS Gold, which was supposed to be .685 then. That mainly was because I didn't have anything smaller at the time.

The way I bore size is that I want a ball to make contact with the bore, but I want to still be able to blow it through. This way its a very close match, NOT under-bored. So its the best of both worlds... tight fit and quiet/accurate WITHOUT blending paint.

Of course, rarely I will barrel break paint but given the consistency of batches of paint and the quality of paint these days, its going to happen. Most scenarios Im playing have egg shaped and dimpled paint. I tend to go with the high end stuff too, sad to say. Although paint is not what it was even 5 years ago, it is certainly better than the cost many years ago.

The reason I think the Disruptive barrels are the finest out there are because the control bore (thats the back, not the tip) is 8" long! thats twice the length of the freak. Longer bore means more contact, tighter fit, more accuracy and a much more quiet barrel. Plus they are REALLY light and all aluminum. Not much different than the DW barrels in weight.

That Viking is far too new for your collection Jim. I'll have to take it off your hands so your Phoenix and brass don't beat it up
