Using quad-rings on older excals

Has anyone replaced ram and hammer o-rings with quad-rings where used on newer models?

I have a 2000 and 2002 Excalibur. I know the ram design has changed three times but the tolerances appear to be similar.

if it seals, go for it, but thats the problem, quads are very finicky with sealing

and the only way to test it is to put it all back together,, and if it doesnt work take it all back apart

it wont work, the quad's are to big for the pre-04 cartridges, we tried it when we where getting the 04 rolling out the door, to see if we could to a straight retro fit.

Bartman, I ended up trying it out on both the ram and hammer and came to the same conclusion. I guess my $25 calipers are not that accurate...

Im having a blast getting mine and all my buddies AKA gear running. I am really kicking myself for not taking the tech certification class. Our team had an opportunity back in 2000 or 2001 to all get certified.

I was fortunate to have had a chance to stop by the shop a few years later to have my Excal milled for solenoids. Sat for a few hours with a younger guy at the shop. Was very informative.

The sponsorship was sometime around 2000 and 2001. My trip to the factory was probably 2003 or 2004. It's been a decade but I want to say he was Asian or Hispanic. Not that narrows it down. Nice guy. Aloud me to each him run my excal through the mill and the whole process.

I also recal some prototypes on the bench that everyone was very secretive about. I was told it was a new mechanical marker being designed but I assume it was evil ehms.
