Excal serial number question

Being doing some research on my Excal, and I'm curious on how the AKA serials are done. Does each year's serial number start with 00000, or does the number accumlate throughout the differenet generations of markers.

I'm curious on this, as my Excal has a serial number is 00013. I was told it was an 04, but I'm really starting to doubt that, due to the different detent.

Looking for all Canadians on MCB, building a list by province. PM me to be added to the list.

My understanding was that AKA did not build guns in order of thier numbering, they simply grabbed a body and did assembly. Therefore #13 wasn't necessarily the 13th gun sold just the 13th body numbered. I remember seeing that one for sale, I was trying to figure out a way to pick it up for the number, and I'm fairly sure it is not an 04.

this is true. When I bought one of the last new ones left in July, the serial is 15xx, yet my 04 highlander was 16xx and the other is 15xx as well.
I doubt #13 is an 04 however. More like first of the pack with MAC noids wire detente, and power switch on the rear.

Pretty much how it's setup, though I think the noids have been switched out at some point in time. Has a wire detent, and the power switch is on the back side.

So bascially she's an older Excal, just with a great serial number. Was a "cursed marker" when I recieved it, but now she runs pretty nice, never chops.

Thanks guys!

I can tell you for sure that the 04 guns where not built in order...

basicaly what happened was we built them by color, some one ordered a red gun so we grabed a red body and put it in the build line and when we got to it it was built.

As for serial numbers, again they where puton the bodies, but some time 50 guns would be sent out to customizers and they where once again grabed off a cart that had random bodies on it.

The bodies where handled several times for serveral other process's after they came off the mill.

as far as I can remember , the only bodies kept out where special one or requested numbers by sponcored players, owners and gun techs.

Hope this clears things up and helps out a little bit.
