How do you properly set up an Excalibur. Do you start with the Sidewinder, and then move to the LPR and then the Dwell, or is it some different order?

My Excal does not still have the stock settings, and I'm trying to figure out if there is any way I can get it set up better.

Also, does anyone know where I can get the latest and greatest version of the WAS code for my WAS board? I have a WAS cable, I just need to know where I can get the code.

get atool kit, set teh LPR , my personal preference is around 75PSI

Make your adjuster on the bottom of your side winder flush with the body of the sidewinder, this is a great starting point. youI have, can then tune your velocity with the side winder up or down.

As for WAS I have no idea, not a big fan of the was stuff, there are better options in my opinion.

But try the WAS sight, you may find it there.

How can I check to see what the LPR pressure is?

you need a part that replaces the back cap of the ram tube. it is tapped for 1/8 NPT to put a guage on it.

1. This part is a pressure gauge and is part of the standard AKA tool kit. If you can't find a used tool kit, check AKALMP's site. You will need the adapter that allows you to remove the tube end caps. You can make one of those if you have the equipment to do so, but one should be in the tool kit. If you are going to remove the LPR, buy a set of o-rings at the same time. You can thank me later.

2. Your Excalibur can only use WAS 1.6 code. WAS 2.0 will work for Vikings but not Excals, so there is no purpose in you upgrading. I suggest you reset the values to "stock" settings and work from there. At this point, make sure you set the dwell correctly for the solenoids your marker has.

3. Adjust your Sidewinder to flush with the bottom of the reg. Using the pressure gauge noted by CP, adjust the internal pressure to 72 - 75 (as noted by Bartman above). Replace the pressure gauge with the end cap.

4. Adjust the fps to 290 (or 5 less than your field allows) via the Sidewinder. Hopefully, this will be all you need to do. If your marker isn't where you want it, you will probably need to adjust the dwell and/or other settings until your Excalibur is working the way you want. At this point, it is a bit of trial and error.

5. The manual for your WAS board is located on the Wicked Air Sportz site (IIRC Wicked Air Sportz) under "manuals".

I'll be looking into getting a tool kit.

BTW, I've heard that WAS came out with some solenoids that are supposedly faster than the Humphries and can fit inside of an Excal that is milled for the Mac ones.

Any truth to this?

I don't beleive WAS came out with them, I beleive they are A Newer vertion of Mac noids, If I rember I seen then when talking ot the MAc rep that was walking around one of the NPPL events I was at teching.

Umm, that was all I heard of them. In my experiences with Mr. Drew I have learned to take some of the things he says with a grain of salt, but other things he speaks seem to be good in his world
