Those holes look like the milling played it too close and the aluminum was only about .002" thick on those last 2 reliefs. Since anodizing uses an acid solution to oxidize the aluminum, it looks like it just "rusted" through during the process. Sorry that it happened to you, but it looks more like a milling problem than an ano problem which is why being in the ano business can be more trouble than it's worth.

If you read the whole thread you will see it was a combination of both. Jared has milled several Vikes with that same code and there have been no problems until now.

The good news is I spoke to Jared and he is doing the assembly as we speak!

Hmm... After reading your thread on pbn i'm starting to think i made a mistake doing buisness with GBA. I've sent off a e-tac marker to him the 26th of december 2007. I still don't have a marker back yet, even taking into account i live in the netherlands so shipping will take longer, he's taking his sweet time about it.

Good to see your issue has been taken care of properly, but i have second thoughts now about how todd runs his buisness.

GBA is still a great company, this was just a fluke. They take a while, but most of their work is top-notch.

All good anodizers seem to take forever for some reason. Maybe its due to the backlog of work they take in.

I agree to a point. This kind of thing happens, however, when it does there needs to be open communication between all parties involved. I followed along in the PBN thread, and I'm glad to see it here too. The comments I have heard (or seen in the PBN thread) from GBA towards Warwitch are uncalled for. I was going to contact GBA about anodizing a hard to get cocker body, but not now. I agree that they do some very nice work, but between some past communications (or lack there-of) with them, and now this, I think I'm going to take my business elsewhere.

In no way do I mean this to be a knock against Todd personally, I just think he needs to maybe take a step back and re-evaluate things. They have done some phenomenal work, and I would hate to see another anodizing shop disappear.
