| Village Idiot | Viking pressure check I have a 04 Viking and a tool kit that goes with it. I am curious as to what pressure it is running at but don't want to anything up so how do I figure out what the operating pressure currently is?

| I hate trying to remember that stuff off the top of my head. AKA Viking/Excalibur manuals The manual details it out real well and you get the info right from the source. |

| It says 65 to 85 PSI but the 04's tend to run better in the mid 70's. A lower PSI setting is said to be smoother while a higher PSI setting has a faster recharge rate. The mid 70's setting is a balance between the two.

| I am running my 03 Viking with WAS and Humphry at 66 psi, dwell of 12 with great results. I had it up at 75 for awhile with a dwell of 10 but every time it shot it made this metallic ring.

| Since you are running at a lower PSI, your gun has to compensate by running at a higher dwell in order to operate properly. Temperature and pressure can change that but that depends on a day to day operation when you want to go that low. This whole running 5 to 10 PSI lower nonsense is just that, nonsense. Some markers can and some markers can't. I run Annie between 72 and 76 and everything is gravy.

| You know I had that happen once, but then it went away as suddenly as it appeared. I would try taking out the pin valve, clean it, and reseat it.
