Metadyne Havoc Info/Specs/Fixes/etc

I thought we had a little thread goin, cant find it, makin a new thread!

Metadyne Havoc

Info:

The classic Metadyne stand-alone rifle launcher is proudly made in Boise, Idaho. The Havoc is designed to shoot the Nerf Vortex rocket and can achieve distances well over 300 feet. This lightweight compact launcher is devastating to tanks and bunkers.

The Havoc is the first launcher built on a modular platform. Using a single base unit you will be able to convert your launcher into many formats simply by adding kits to your original launcher purchased. Start with the Rifle Launcher, simply buy the under mount upgrade kit and now you have 2 different launcher configurations without having to buy a new launcher.

Choose from either a bottom mount or side mount ASA.

DIY Guides.

The Bondo Fix
The Pressure Relief Hole was drilled/milled too close to the piston
Metadyne says they were worried about overpressurization, but should have put it a little further forward
It is the hole that catches orings and stops the Havoc from functioning

What Metadyne told me
prep the jb weld
push it into the hole
use the reg piston thingy (i dont know the exact term) and push it in and out to smoooth out the shape
remove the reg piston thingy, let jb weld cure for full cure
lightly sand the insides to make perfect

that hole was/will be removed on the newest run of launchers

he said it takes like 8000-10000 psi to blow up the havoc, the hole was placed to prevent 900-1000 psi
so they got rid of it

The Slug Fix
The same idea as the bondo, but i will drill/tap the body, then ream the hole and cut the slug out from the inside

well...

i tried a different way of the bondo fix
i attempted to drill/tap/screw/ream the hole

figured i'd just remove the hole in its entirety.

didnt work.
stripped the hole.

next plan!

make a little plug 3/8 dia with a little shoulder about .400+
each side of the plug will be about .100/.150

i'll come in with a 3/8 endmill and drill a nice precision hole, loctite and press the plug in, then using a boring head on the mill, rebore the hole to be perfect

it should work

i posted pics of try #1 on sscfb, but i ended up messin up the threads
