it is a very old female stab, I was most concerned with making it look like garbage, I ended up making a nickle slot and good news NO locktite! my rebuild can commence.

Craig told me to get the older ones apart, screw an appropriate size bolt (can't remember what size it would be) with a nut threaded onto it into the velocity adjuster hole, and then tighten the jam nut down hard against the Stab. Then unscrew the bolt, and it should back the cap out. I took apart an older Rock just the other day this way.

good idea cow, I had thought of that, but I didn't have any appropriate sized bolts, and I took my time and the slot looks good, I have re-built and tested, and after taking out one of the 2 washers I have been able to get my velocity below 345fps!

Just finished opening mine up and cleaning it. Watched the video first and it was very helpful. It was much simpler than I thought it'd be.Hopefully that'll take care of the creeping I discovered this afternoon. If not I suppose I'll order new seals.

I was in need of cleaning out my Stabilizer to see if that helps with some velocity issues (310 fps first shot, then 255, 265, 258, 278, 260, 285, bouncing all over except for the first shot which was always hot) but the video is gone now. Anyone save it?

This method works well. You can even weld a handle on one of the nuts to make amore useable tool.
