On the bottom of the pump there are 4 letters, YPE and an I on the front portion. These are all in yellow letters. Also it seems that the Lapco name on the pump was is in gold. All of the screws which are brass seemed to have been shiny gold at one time. It also still has the original sticker from the store of purchase which is Unique Sporting & Strategic Game Supply. If anyone can shed some light on some of these "oddities" I would really appreciate it. I am trying to get better photos but this is what I have so far. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i2...ststicker2.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i2...reyghost-1.jpg |

I really think it had to do with what Colin had laying around at the time or what he was tinkering with at that moment. The later guns especially sort of fell in that category I'll bet the black pumparms were originally intended for a Wraith, but I could be wrong. I remember reading that his original annodizer skipped out, so a few of the final ones had some odd colors - there were some mixed colors and some with slight color variations. Heck, some were engraved in places and some where not. I had one with "wintec" engraved on the triggerframe (who made the frame for Lapco) and some where Colin had milled that off. I imagine your pump screws are not original. I think all of the original ones (most but not all were brass) were flat-sided and not rounded. The other ones look original though. Polish them with brasso if you want, but I like the tarnished look myself. But overall that's a very nice example. Looks like original wood grips and minimal pump wear. Kinda wish I still had one. |

There is really no pump wear on this on. When the pump is taken off the rest of the barrel is a bit lighter in color than where the pump covers. |

| MCB Member | One more left feed for the tallys. Carters..one bought on ebay and brought to MCB, one on ebay that stayed because of high price and now this one. 4. Cool looking gun. There is a consistant period in the middleish of the lapco production where they all got standardized.. In the beginning they werent and at the end they were just using what was left so again they became non standard. |
