| Thick | KP stock refinishing? I'm planning on re-doing the finish on my KP's stock. What's the best way to remove the old stain- chemical remover or sanding?

| Thick | Ok cool, thanks. I knew there was a recent thread but laziness made me take the easy way out and ask directly. I'm going w/ a red mahogany oil-based stain. Make it nice and dark, it should look good w/ the PPS-applied glossy powdercoat on the brass.

| Thick | Ok so I talked to Pete (Wharfrat) a little while ago. He's done many KP stocks. He says: Sand the old finish off, it's very thin. Stain it whatever color you want, applying layers till you're happy. Apply several layers of tung oil, allowing to dry overnight and lightly sand between coats w/ fine-grit paper. Eventually it will become mirror-finish glossy and very durable.
