Im still not sure what I want yet, so currently im basicly browsing. Im leaning to a ACU digi camo (spec ops) then a dust red "V" from V for Vendetta from possibly destrcutive customs. |

When disassembling it completely to be sent out, be very careful, as some of the parts are pretty easy to damage if done without the proper tools, and some of the set screws are in there with Locktite. Make sure you get all of the set screws (According to Jim, some of them are pretty well hidden). Pay attention to where all the parts came from. I made the mistake of assuming that I could find a nice blowup diagram how all the parts were supposed to go back together. I was sadly mistaken. I didn't have the tools to get everything out without damaging things, so I sent it to Rainman partially assembled. Note: Most Anno places will charge extra if they have to disassemble the gun first. After getting mine back, and putting it back together, I ended up with a couple of left over parts If you don't mind spending a bit extra, I'd advise sending it to Jim at ICE (assuming he's willing), having him disassemble it completely and mail it off to the anodizer. Have them return it to him for reassembly and testing, and depending on your model, he may be able to do a reg upgrade and mill it for the new style trap door kit (with the fin instead of the sizers). I think the new style trap door is standard on all DV8's. I'd advise at least shooting Jim an email or giving him a call to see if he has any other pointers. I believe the tolerances of the epic are a bit more important than the average marker, so there is more risk of causing damage during the stripping and re-anoing process. For some reason, mine needed a slightly larger trigger pin after the annodizing happened [Edit] Here's a pic that shows off the ano a bit better than the one rainman has posted. ![]() [/Edit]

(Supposedly a new antichop trap door). So basicly I'll send it to him, have him dissemble it, send it to ________ for the anno job, and then have Jim resemble it, and apply the new ups. |
