Upgrades for BE Cobra

ok, so i've gotten my cobras and they are pretty nice. But can I upgrade them at all? It looks almost like a sheridan gripframe. Would a cocker frame fit? What about barrels. These are huge, and i've been told they are fairly unique threads.

I'll have to get some 12g to see how efficiant they are.

threaded feednecks on theese. Are there any compatable parts?

What about just grip pannels? Which will fit. Would some of the wood SP ones do the job?

thanks for all the help folks!

If it's similar to a Sheridan frame, Mag frames may work on it. BTW, do you have more than one? I want pics!

The barrel threads are the same as the BE Poison. BOA used to make barrels for them. Also, the stock barrel has an extremely tight bore for such an old gun. I would definitely recommend a flex hone. Crossman stocks bolt right onto the grip frame.

Tescrash, I picked up 2. One for me, one to trade. They are old rentals, and needed a good cleaning. Not they have a smooth action, but have numerious dings and nicks.

Eli, as they are backbottle will a crossman stock and 7oz fit together?

I'll try to get some pics, but they are nothing really special.

My buddy Kenny, aka Wanderlustre, hacksawed about six inches off the top of the stock to accommodate a 4oz. tank. I have also seen my share of Nightmares/Cobras being run "California Style" using those stocks.

Melk, look at the pic of the Golden Eagle in my gallery. I mounted the bottle in a cradle under the stock. Works great. I also used to have a Cobra set up that way.

you have to mod crosman stocks to work on the Cobra / King Cobra . . . this is because the frame fits into a slot in the main body. You need to relieve the top of the stock to account for this.

if you compare the grips that come on the Cobra's to the same ones off of say a Nightmare (or a crosman ratcatcher at that) you will see what I am talking about

if I remember when I get home tonight, and if I can find them, I'll post pics

I'm not really worried about the stock. I'm mostly interested in possibly replacing the gripframe with something newer, and preferably aluminum.

Can anyone try and see if a mag or cocker frame will fit?

Tescrash: No need for a vest, thanks tho
