| MCB Member | On/Off ASAs
So I'm about to wrap up a project of the electronic variety that I have had in the works for the better part of three years. I am a perfectionist and have chosen what are, in my opinion, the best possible parts to complete this. I am, however, at a loss as to which on/off ASA I should purchase to have match annodized with the marker. I have long been a fan of push button and quarter turn style on/offs as they are very simple to operate but I have been repeatedly disappointed in their general quality, or rather their lack thereof, and have had several cease to function in short order. I have heard good things about the Bob Long Cam Drive ASA, the Bob Long Gear Drive ASA, and the Dangerous Power R.A.P.S. Do any of you have any advice regarding which ASAs I should look into or which I should avoid?

i currently use cp's, but my fav by far was the bob long gear drive i put on my vice. front macroline, compact, easy to turn. the only thing is the "xpress mount system" it worked great, but i have a little ocd about built in rails, i have to have a rail mount asa on it. it sounds silly i know. just please dont ever get a ndz quick flip, i turned mine off(it didnt bleed this time like it usually did) and unscrewed my tank, then a few seconds later the insides blew out the back. |

DYE's ASA airport works awesome. got one on my Prostock and its only a 1/4 turn. it even has a macroline fitting on the end of it for straight macroing. heres a pic of it on my gun. ![]() very simple yet elegant. |

In my experience anything that actually depress and release the pin valve are better on the bonnet wear. Some of the quarter turn asas I've used just cut off the air supply but still have the pin valve depressed. With that being said, my favorites have been mac devs on/offs, bob longs, and cps. The oops asa by PE aint bad, I just don't like how it looks as compared to others in it price range |

I always prefer the CP stuff because their customer service is ridiculous awesome. Any problems I have had, I had the parts to fix it in 3 business days. You can't top the warranty on their parts.

DP RAPS all the way. I like mine so much that I have it on an NW pin rail and use it for all my markers. like sniper15 says, anything that depresses and releases the pin is better for wear, and the thing degasses when you throw the lever which is nice. comes apart and goes back together real easy too if you have to do any maintenance.

I've put a CP on/off on every gun I've ever owned. To me, no other product is as smooth or reliable. I had a BL cam drive, but the issue I ran into was running short distance macro line from a center-fitting ASA to a 90 degree fitting on a Dye Hyper reg. It's a pretty sharp angle and ended up leaking. If you have a CP reg, or something else that has the fitting on the bottom, then you're good to go...

I have a new design quick flip, and a CP. both have served me wel in the last couple of years, with no major issues. the only thing with the CP was about a week or two of use the internal oring went. the good was that they supply an extra o-ring when you buy them new, and it was fairly easy to replace. the new design i really like cause the fitting is in the front. in the last year New Design came out with an on/off that goes over the front mounted fitting. so there is no side lever or air fitting on the side. this will be my next on/off asa purchase for sure. but i think you have more of a selection of anno color if you go the CP route.
